Train ride
We made it safely to Junagadh. I learned a few things on the train ride. First: a handkerchief is a very important thing to take on an Indian train. Indian food is very messy. Second: There are ignorant rednecks everywhere in the world. Third: All of India is just kind of jimmy-rigged together.

Junagadh is a very nice city. It is named after the fort that enclosed the old city (jirna means old). Dating from 250 BC. This is apparently A big festival time right now. There was a Muslim holiday on the first, and Mahatma Gandhi's birthday on the second (This was the birth place of Gandhi), they celebrate every night for nine days! It is also a very loud city. For being a dry state, these guys sure do like to party! We were invited to two different parties yesterday, but a series of events-including bad weather made it so we could not attend.

Old mosque in Junagadh
Cara has a soar throat so today we went to find some cough drops. Later we will go to some Buddhist caves and a mosque. -ashby
